Neither God Nor Bible Needed For U.S. President's Oath Of Office
Friday, January 23, 2009 at 2:59AM I know it is useless to suggest that the staff at Fox News and their audience should read and understand the US Constitution before opening their mouths. Those who are capable reading the constitution by phonetically sounding out the words obviously lack the cognitive skills to understand the sentences. For them I will try to make this note short and simple.
Article II (2) Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution describes how the U. S. President is elected and sworn in. The Oath does not contain the words "So help me God," and there is no mention of the need for a Bible.
Our founding fathers were very serious about the separation of church and state.
O.K. Fox News and friends, do you understand? Obama's swearing in is complete and official.
P.S. Hoping for Obama to fail is wishing for terrible calamities to befall the country. How is that loving America?
