Give the Country Back to the Indians (Native Americans)

That’s it! Go ahead and bury us. Call the Chinese and tell them we are walking away from our loans. They can have whatever they want and give what’s left of the country back to the Indians (Native Americans).

With massive unrest over health care reform, fear of renewed terrorist attacks, extreme cold giving erroneous cover to global warming deniers and fueling renewed controversy over energy policy and cap and trade, big banks pushing back against needed financial reform legislation, continued massive unemployment, and a rising federal deficit, the big American fear is that President Obama’s State of the Union speech will preempt the first episode of the last season of Lost!

The White House has assured an anxious nation that no trifling speech dealing with such insignificant issues as those listed above will be scheduled to conflict with such a major cultural event. Lost’s time slot is sacrosanct. The country’s priorities are preserved.

They say, “people get the government they deserve,” so what does our putting this episode of Lost ahead of the State of the Union speech say about us?

It says that the State of the Union speech should be short and telecast in the middle of the night. The President should stand before the assembled congress and after his customary greeting to Congress and the people of the nation, he should say, “It has become obvious to me that, despite all of the flag waving by members of congress on both sides of the aisle as well as the Tea Party movement, few citizens really give a shit. Therefore I’m going home to bed, allowing the networks to return to the reruns of Married with Children, Seinfeld, and Gilligan’s Island already in progress. Goodnight and fuck you all.”

If one's regularly scheduled programming, which i might add is almost all available On Demand with today's technology, is more important than the words of our nations' leader, you are correct. The United States is in serious need of priority correction! Maybe it's time that the president stopped being our friend, and start being our leader.
